Pestaurant-News-ImageTo celebrate our pest control heritage and over 85 years’ experience of services, our UK colleagues yesterday unveiled the the world’s first “Pop-up Pestaurant”, at One New Change in London.

…and it’s caused quite a stir in Australia!

20 different local newspapers and online new sites have run a story on our colleagues efforts, including News.com.auThe AustralianHerald SunPerth NowBrisbane Courier MailQueensland TimesThe Morning BulletinCoffs Coast AdvocateCentral Telegraph and more.

Our unique ‘pop-up Pestaurant’ introduced the delights of BBQ Mole Crickets, Roasted-Salted Queen Weaver Ants, Sweet Chilli Pigeon Burgers and Chocolate Dipped Worms to all those brave enough to venture to One New Change in the City of London on Thursday 15th August.

According to UN statistics there are already over 2 billion people worldwide supplementing their diets by eating insects.

True, it’s an unusual way to celebrate over 85 years of pest control experience and heritage, but we have always been an innovative company, never afraid to lead the way in proactive pest prevention…

So, what could be more proactive than eating critters before they can become pests?

Entomophagy (the technical term for eating insects) is definitely not an established custom in Western countries, where many of these creatures are seen as annoying pests. Our Pestaurant was aimed at celebrating the hard work that goes into keeping the UK’s pests under control and encourage people to be a little adventurous with their cuisine!
