Silo Fumigation
Silo fumigation is the fumigation of a grain product within it’s storage vessel (e.g. a silo).
The silo must meet similar protocols as the pressure decay fumigation for the product to be suitable for treatment within it. A pressure test on a silo does not have to be done every time the silo is used for treatment but it is recommended that it is inspected every time before use and pressure tested every 6 months or when modifications have been made.
Most silo fumigation's are done to save time and money due to the fact that large amounts of products can be treated in one hit for a relatively low cost compared to container or ship fumigation.
