Shawn Miley has been in the Fumigation industry for over 17 years. Shawn used to work for the family fumigation business and then became the director of the company. In February 2007 they sold their family business to Rentokil Pest Control. Shawn is now the National Fumigation Manager for Rentokil Pest Control.

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?
Meeting fumigation technicians from around the country and training everybody on treatments and how the treatments should be done. Another part I enjoy is setting standards for an industry that has always been overlooked by a lot of the pest control industry.
What do you see as the biggest challenge in the Fumigation industry in the next 5 years?
Maintaining a higher than expected level of service in an industry going through some major changes and making sure all our Fumigation staff Australia wide is up to date with any changes.
How did you become interested in Fumigation?
I used to work for the family fumigation business on school holidays. A few years after I left school my Father needed some help for a couple of weeks while one of his workers was away injured, I continued working with my Father and together 10 years ago we bought out our business partner and I became the director. In February 2007 we decided to sell our family business to Rentokil Pest Control and together we have made Fumigation a larger part of our business.
When did you join Rentokil and what was your position?
I joined Rentokil Pest Control in February 2007 as the Branch Manager for Brisbane Fumigation and as Rentokil bought over more fumigation businesses I took the role of the National Fumigation Manager at the end of 2007.
